The first album by NiMO, a project under the pseudonym of Jeroen van der Wiel, keyboardist of the Dutch symphonic/melodic rock band ODYSSICE, was released in '24. As the title suggests, it is an album of acoustic piano covers of works by Jean-Michel Jarre, the master of French electronic music, including "Premier Rendez-vous," an abstract ambient-style arrangement of the original song, and "Les Chants Magnetique, pt. 1," an acoustic piano arrangement of the original song. Chants Magnetique, pt. 4", "Oxygene, pt. 17", and others, Jarre's sound is deep into the core of his sound, experimenting with various approaches, such as replacing a synth-pop tune that originally had a clear melody with a piano and creating an atmospheric mood by using reverberation sounds. The result is a deep work that approaches the core of Jarre's sound while experimenting with a variety of approaches.
