Description:

Contemporary Composers Bakri, Jarrell and Eskech Bakri, Jarel, and Eskech have made world premiere recordings of works dedicated to the virtuoso composer Leroux! The Eskech work also features a collaboration with Batiashvili! Oboe player François Leroux releases "Future Horizons", an album of oboe works by contemporary composers Nicolas Bacri (1961-), Mickaël Jarrell (1958-), and Thierry Esche (1965-) on the Pentatone label! The title of the album reflects Leroux's desire to broaden the scope of classical music through contemporary works, expanding new possibilities for the oboe as an instrument. Each piece is a masterpiece created through an encounter with Leroux. Each of them is a masterpiece inspired by the presence of one of the world's greatest composers. The Eskech piece will be performed with Leroux's beloved wife, Lisa Batiashvili. Together with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra led by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, they give an outstanding performance of this difficult piece. Notturno is a work for oboe and strings composed during the period between Motet No. 7 "O Lux beatissima" and beatus vir. Transitioning from perfect chords to an atonal chromatic scale, it is a lyrical meditation that is a counterpart to the Motet No. 7" (Nicolas Bacri). Aquatint is an intaglio technique used in printmaking. In my orchestral compositions, I have always wanted to express the blending of sounds by imitating this technique, which creates a surface composed of dots rather than lines, and creates different tints, and this became a reality when I met François Leroux. Having worked with him several times in the past, I have witnessed that he is a rare talent who can master a piece effortlessly and "sing" it poetically. If I had not met him, I probably would not have had the courage to compose such a technically difficult piece. (1/2) PENTATONE
