Suleiman and Sibe, who have ethnic roots in the East, release "Broken Branches," a concept album that demonstrates the close connection between Eastern and Western culture and music! The third PENTATONE album by the unique guitar prodigy Sean Sibe is already available. This time, with tenor Karim Suleiman, the concept album "The Broken Branch" represents the close connection between Eastern and Western cultures and music, from Dowland, Monteverdi, Britten, Rodrigo, Takemitsu Toru, Harvey and Shakeel to traditional songs of the Middle East! Both Suleiman, a Lebanese-American, and Sibe, a Japanese-British, have ethnic roots in the East, and the concept was inspired by the experience of two artists who grew up in the West and experienced an "in-between" identity. In "Broken Branches," the guitar and tenor express the historical divide known as diaspora. Karim Suleiman was active in the Chicago Children's Chorus and as a boy performed as an alto soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Georg Solti and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra under Leonard Slatkin He released his debut album as a soloist in 2018, and is a 2019 61st Grammy nomination. Sean Sibe studied at the Royal Conservatory of Scotland and then in Italy with Paolo Pegoraro.He has since gone on to win the "Young Artist Award" at the 2017 Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards, and has released "Pilgrimage" (PTC-5186870) and "Lost and Found" (PTC-5186988) on the PENTATONE label.
