He has been principal horn player for the Wallonie Opera, the Belgian National Orchestra, the New Belgium Chamber Orchestra, and Lee Fiamengi, and after retiring as an orchestral player, he has pursued his career as a freelance horn player.He is also passionate about nurturing talented young players at the Ghent Conservatory and later at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels. This album couples works that Bergier loves, from pieces written for horn to his own improvisations and arrangements of Schumann's Fantasy Pieces and Rachmaninoff's Vocalise. The deep, noble, and warm tone of the horn, which he himself was fascinated by, is beautifully conveyed to the audience through this disc. Recorded March-April 2024 in Belgium. (Tokyo M-Plus)
