Jan Vermeulen plays a collection of Bach pieces! Jan Vermeulen, a Belgian keyboardist who has worked with world-class musicians such as Wieland Kuijken and Paul Dombrecht, has completed a 12-disc set of Schubert's solo piano works (KTC1336) and a 7-disc set of Schubert's four hands with Werre Pieters (KTC1511). Vermeulen, who has completed the "Schubert Works for Piano Solo" (KTC1336) and the "Complete Works of Schubert for Four Hands" (KTC1511) with Werle Peters, has recorded Bach's works, which he says are essential on the path to becoming a good pianist. Featuring several pieces from the "Small Preludes" and "Music Book for Anna Magdalena Bach," this recording depicts Bach's inventive world in which melody, harmony, and rhythm are fused into a logical and coherent narrative.
