A collection of works by composer Johanna Doderer (b. 1969), the niece of Austrian author Heimeit von Doderer, known for his novel *The Surni Falls*. Her Symphony No. 2, “Bohinj,” was inspired by the beautiful scenery of the city of Bohinj in the Republic of Slovenia; it is a work that embodies the voiceless cry of this landscape, which was devastated during World War I. The Violin Concerto is an innovative piece that questions the value of “female composers.” Recorded in Germany in 2015, conducted by Marianne Matiak. (C)RS
