Quartet Records and El Deseo are pleased to announce the release of the highly anticipated new soundtrack album from master filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar and four-time Academy Award-nominated composer Alberto Iglesias (known for *The Constant Gardener*, *I’d Do It a Thousand Times for You*, *The Circus of Betrayal*, and *Parallel Mothers*). *AMARGANAVIDAD* marks the 15th collaboration between Almodóvar and Iglesias. Over the course of their deep and enduring partnership spanning more than 30 years, they have brought numerous films to the world—including *All About My Mother*, *Talk to Her*, *Volver*, and *Pain and Glory*—achieving global success. The film explores themes of “a movie within a movie” and “the limits of creativity.” At the heart of the story is a successful film director who freely adapts the real-life experiences of those around him into his screenplays, without giving a second thought to the emotional scars his actions might leave on them. Alberto Iglesias has composed one of the most passionate, emotionally resonant, dynamic, and vibrant large-scale orchestral scores of his career. Evoking the spirit of Stravinsky, Ravel, and Debussy, this work is arguably his greatest masterpiece to date. This album also features a cover of Chavela Vargas’s classic “Las pequenascosas,” sung by Amaia. Remastered in high-resolution by Jose Luis Crespo, this release is a limited-edition 2-LP set on 140g blue vinyl with a gatefold jacket. The cover features the film’s official poster, designed by Javier Jaen.
