Remastered 1959 release by Benny Goodman, an icon of the historic live big band era who recorded "My Favorite Things" before "The Sound of Music" and "Coltrane" with Benny Goodman and the 10tet. The original recording was dedicated to the songs from Rodgers & Hart's "The Sound of Music." It features as many as eight bonus tracks from a live performance that he did with the same members a week before the session. Performed by an all-star 10-tet consisting of Jack Sheldon, Bill Harris, Flip Phillips, and Red Novo. It includes the first jazz version of "My Favorite Things," recorded about a year before John Coltrane performed it.
