The acoustics of the Cardona Abbey, which Savard often chooses as a recording location, seem to enrich and amplify not only the sound but also the emotional expression of the music, and bring out the best in the expression of Savard's keen sensibility. The Four Seasons is a secular yet deeply spiritual oratorio in which nature, farming, festivals, storms, the passage of time, hope, reflection, and gratitude are depicted in Haydn's mature symphonic language and colorful, distinctive vocal writing.
