Venezuela's mellow and funky fusion masterpiece, which has become a holy grail among collectors around the world, is being reissued on LP! Venezuelan guitar prodigy Alexandre Rodriguez independently produced this guitar fusion album in 1978. It is a masterpiece that strongly shows the influence of major guitarists of the time, such as Lee Ritner and Larry Carlton. The album features Jorge Dalto on electric piano, who played with Spyro Gyra and George Benson; Stanley Banks, a bass player who also played with George Benson; legendary drummer Dennis Davis, who worked with Roy Ayers, Stevie Wonder, and others; and the legendary Jorge Dalto, a guitarist who also played with Spyra and George Benson. Dennis Davis, a legendary drummer who worked with Roy Ayers and Stevie Wonder, and Carlos "Nene" Quintero, Venezuela's foremost percussionist, are also participating. Except for the acoustic guitar version of Bach's "Minuet," the fifth track, all of the numbers are Rodriguez's own compositions, but they are all urban, sometimes mellow, sometimes funky fusion numbers of the highest standard.I especially recommend the first track "Cumana" and the extremely funky sixth track "El Mercado". This is a rare masterpiece of Latin American jazz groove!
