Jose Maria Lo Monaco sings on the theme of Mary Magdalene's love! Jose Maria Lo Monaco, acclaimed for his baroque music, makes his solo debut! A beautiful array of sounds focused on Mary Magdalene! The subtitle of this album, "Sacred Love" and "Secular Love," refers to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene, who watched over Jesus at his crucifixion and was present at his resurrection. Mary, the mother of Jesus, has been an object of veneration since the Middle Ages, but Mary Magdalene was featured in many oratorios in the 17th and 18th centuries. There, Mary Magdalene plays a role between secular and sacred love, and the tension between the two provides excellent material for highly emotional music. These are brought to life in the oratorio and the three Salve Regina, which Massimo Mazzeo, conductor of Divino Sospiro, has combined. The soloist is José María Lo Monaco, a mezzo-soprano with an established reputation in Baroque music. This album will be her solo debut album. Tokyo M-Plus
