The London Haydn String Quartet, a famous British quartet of period instruments that Hope Rich performed with on the immortal album "Mozart & Brahms: Clarinet Quintets (GCD 920607)", will be performing with the London Haydn String Quartet on the "Crucell (GCD 920607)". Following Crucell (GCD 920609), the new recording by Hoplich and the London Haydn Q features Weber's Clarinet Quintet, Op. 34, a masterpiece on par with the Clarinet Quintets of Mozart and Brahms, and a work that has greatly inspired Weber's instrumental compositions. The quintet is coupled with works by Heinrich Behrmann and Franz Krommer, who have been major inspirations for Weber's instrumental compositions.
