TAIFA, a Spanish heavy metal/progressive hard band born in Palma, the largest city on the Mediterranean island of Majorca, in the late 90s, released their '25 album on the Spanish progressive rock label 5 Lunas Producciones! This is the Spanish version. Starting with a straightforward melancholic melody that references the Spanish hard rock master MEDINA AZAHARA, the band has shifted over the course of their career to a heavy metal and hard rock sound with a strong Andalusian rock flavor that incorporates flamenco palmas and exotic arrangements with ethnic instruments and strings. This is their first studio album in about 9 years.This time, perhaps due to the fact that it was released on a prog-rock label, the style of the album has changed to appeal to prog-rock fans, with a weepy vocal style and melodies that push sentimental sentiments more than on previous albums.With the help of guest musicians including Juan DeLola, a master of electric and flamenco guitar who has released many albums under the name of DeLola, the band has created a progressive hard rock album that combines its signature passionate hard rock sound with the exoticism of acoustic instruments such as the flamenco guitar and oud. The more you listen to this album, the more Andalusian emotion seeps through.
