The Sixties, founded by Harry Christophers in 1979, have been one of the world's finest choral ensembles ever since. A special collection album specially produced to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Tokyo M-Plus is now available! The album features a selection of the Sixteen's recordings of great music from the 16th century to the present day.In addition to the original version of Allegri's "Miserere," which caused quite a stir when it was first released, MacMillan's "Miserere" dedicated to Harry Christophers, "Maria Ascended into Heaven" from the popular Palestrina Series Volume 1, and the "Wake Up" from the Bird album "Stare Steadily" which was selected as a "special selection" by Record Art and BBC Music Magazine. In addition to such noteworthy recordings as "Keep Your Eyes Open" from the Bard album "Stare Steadily" and contemporary repertoire by Pelto and Whitaker, there is also an arrangement of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 (arranged by Bob Chilcott), which was released for limited distribution, and an arrangement of the Rabbler album (COR 16144), which is also available on the Rabbler album. 16144), and "Three Hymns," which was not included on the Rabbler album (COR 16144).
