The Sixteen - New Recording!" The Sixteen, founded by Harry Christophers in 1979, have maintained the world's highest standards of choral excellence for over 40 years. The Call of Rome" will feature works by Gregorio Allegri and Felice Anerio, who worked for the Pope's choir in the Eternal City of Rome, as well as Flemish choral works by Josquin des Prez and Spanish choral master Josquin de Prez, and a new program of works by the Pope's choir in Spain. Josquin des Prez and Spain's Tomás Luis de Victoria, who wrote (supposedly) in Rome, are on the program. Allegri's masterpiece "Miserere," sung only at special services in the Sistine Chapel, is recorded from a newly revised edition (COR 16118) by Allegri scholars Ben Biram-Wigfield and Harry Christophers.
