Handel & Haydn Society's Haydn! The Handel & Haydn Society (HHS), America's oldest period orchestra, and Harry Christophers, the 13th Music Director of the HHS, will perform Haydn's symphonies live at Boston's Symphony Hall in 2008. Composed in the early years of the Sturm und Drang period, the "Symphony No. 26 "Lamentazione", with its Gregorian chant allusions, and the "Symphony No. 86", the latter of the six Paris Symphonies, will be performed by Aislinn Christophers, active with the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and others, and currently HHS's 2017 Through three works of Mozart's "Violin Concerto No. 3" with Aislinn Nosky as soloist, Harry Christophers and HHS will portray the contrast between Haydn's early and late works, and the friendship between Haydn and Mozart.Harry Christophers and HHS have become more and more solid over the years, and we invite you to enjoy the sound of the master's exceptional skills and the tradition of one of the most prestigious names in American classical music!
