Remastered by PENTATONE and now on SACD! This is a superb Haydn SACD hybrid disc performed by Zukerman. There are surprisingly few recordings of Haydn concertos by famous violinists, with only Goumiaux, Accardo, and Shaham recording the Haydn concertos on modern instruments. Haydn's concertos, with their transitional style from Baroque to Classical concertos, are important works in the history of music. Zukerman, with his elegant approach and beautiful sound, gives an ideal performance. The remastering was done by Polyhymnia International of the Netherlands, the pride of the PENTATONE label. The packaging is a super jewel case with a sleeve, and the booklet features the original DG jacket, making this a package that is sure to tickle the fancy of any enthusiast. King International
