The legendary American Analog Set, who, along with Duster and Acetone, broke out of slacker rock and into post-rock during the post-rock movement of the late 90s, are back with a new 5-CD anthology of their early works. The three early works that supported this attitude are back as a 5-CD anthology "NEW DRIFTERS"! The three albums compiled here are 1996's THE FUN OF WATCHING FIREWORKS, 1997's FROM OUR LIVING ROOM TO YOURS, and 1999's THE GOLDEN BAND, all of which were released by EMPEROR JONES. All were released on the EMPEROR JONES LABEL label, and were a sure step toward increasing popularity. The three rules of slacker rock, namely low budget, no-fuss style, and post-rock approach, have not faded away even after listening to them now! Among them, "Queen of Her Own Parade" and "You Don't Want Me to Arrive, Do You?", two previously unreleased tracks unearthed during the editing process, have a destructive power that could be used in the US indie scene today.This album is dropped from NUMERO, the famous excavation contractor, where the band has suddenly been in a hurry to reunite and release a new album "FOR FOREVER" in 2023.
