Description:
Philip Jaroussky is a counter-tenor superstar. The clarity of his vocal expression and his choice of outstanding recorded repertoire have established his reputation as the preeminent countertenor of his generation. Baroque works are naturally central to his repertoire, but on the other hand, his 2009 album "Opium" (with guest appearances by Renaud & Gautier Capuçon and Emmanuelle Payu), he sings French songs from the late 19th and 20th centuries, breaking the stereotyped image of the countertenor. In this project, he will perform "Pergo" and "Pergo", which are both sung by the same singer. This project follows the baroque works of "Pergolesi: Stabat Mater" and "Porpora for Farinelli: Aria Collection," and is Vavaldi's third, following "Opera Aria Collection" and "Cantatas Collection. In particular, "Stabat Mater" and "Salve Regina" are masterpieces of sorrow and tenderness dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and this studio recording with the orchestra he founded, Alta Serse, delves into Vivaldi's most beautiful collection of religious works.
