The complete collection of works containing interpretations by Ravel's direct master, Ravel Vincent Lardere, known by the illustrious title of "Steinway Artist," was hailed as "one of the best pianists of his generation" by the German newspaper Neue Musikzeitung. He studied with Bruno Leonardo Gerber at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Lübeck in Lübeck, Germany, and has won awards at the Maria Canals Barcelona International Music Competition, the AMA Calabria International Music Competition, and numerous other competitions. He has a wide repertoire ranging from Scarlatti to Boulez, and is especially well known for his study of Ravel's scores, which were annotated by Perlemuter along with the composer himself. He is internationally acclaimed for his colorful expressiveness, and his performances in Japan have been well received. For this album, Larduret has undertaken a remarkable four-volume recording project of Ravel's solo piano works, based on the original editions annotated by Ravel's direct disciple, Vlad Perlemuterre, during his close collaboration with Ravel.These scores offer valuable insights into the interpretation of tempo, pedaling, phrasing, timbre, etc. Lardure, who studied under Carlos Cebro, a student of Perlemuterre, takes the first step in this very feat of embodying Ravel's spirit and interpretive style in the modern age.
