A very powerful release! The CD was a session recording made in Berlin, but this film is a live recording of a concert of the complete Schumann symphonies in Bremen in the spring of 2011. The recording takes place at Pier 2, a former shipyard in Bremen's harbor that is now an event space usually filled with pop and rock concerts, where Paavo Järvi and the orchestra ventured to perform Schumann's four symphonies. The orchestra and Paavo Järvi took the opportunity to perform Schumann's four symphonies live for a young audience. The accompanying documentary highlights the performance of the four symphonies and follows the workshop, including interviews and rehearsals.My aim is to make a music documentary that will move people who grew up with pop, rock, and music videos," says Christian Berger, who shares the same interest in the new reception of classical music as Paavo Järvi, who also worked with Paavo Järvi and others on the Beethoven documentary in 2009.
