A fresh Brahms by the hot young conductor Ticchiati! A wonderful Brahms. It is very rare to find a Brahms that is so young, fresh, soft, joyful, delicately sensitive, and full of fine flavors. Robin Ticciati was born in London in 1983 and is still in his twenties. His talent has been noticed since he was a teenager, and by his early twenties he was already active in the forefront of the British music world. In Japan, he conducted the Salzburg Festival's production of "The Marriage of Figaro" in May 2008, leading the Age of Enlightenment Orchestra in a brilliant Mozart performance that was praised by those with a keen ear. This time, Ticchiati will conduct the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, of which he is the principal guest conductor, in Brahms.Aside from the rapid-fire variations with the bouncy expansiveness of the great conductors of the past, Ticciati clearly shows that the Serenade No. 1, which is often regarded as a young work, is a masterpiece worthy of being called an "early symphony".
