Arranged for cello by Dietmar Berger himself! Composed around 1735, the "12 Fantasias for viola da gamba" was discovered in the spring of 2015 after being shrouded in mystery due to the disappearance of the original score, which was known to have been published. Like his masterpieces for violin, flute (and traverso), and harpsichord, Telemann listened to the burgeoning amateur market in Hamburg and wrote the "Cello Arrangement" of the 12 Fantasias for Viola da gamba! The German cellist Dietmar Berger has taken on the ambitious and ambitious project of performing Telemann's Fantasias written for viola da gamba on cello.After studying at the Aachen and Düsseldorf Music Universities, Berger studied viola da gamba technique from Sebastian Pank at the Leipzig University of Music, where he became proficient on both cello and gamba, modern and period, and from 1993 to 2000 was a member of the Dresden A member of the Saxon State Opera, Berger is currently based in Cologne, where he is very active as a cellist and viola da gamba player.
