In this new album released on the Tactus label, a treasure trove of Italian music, he has recorded the entirety of Torelli's "Concerto Concertos, Op. 8"! Giuseppe Torelli was born in Verona, Veneto, Italy in 1658, and at the age of 25 was hired as a violinist at the city's cathedral. Violinist and composer. He was one of the composers who contributed to the fame and success of the Bologna School of Music, the backbone of Italian Baroque music, along with the Venetian, Roman, and Neapolitan Schools.Giuseppe Torelli's masterpiece "Concerto Grosso, Op.8" was published by his brother Felice Torelli in 1709, and although there are many recordings of parts and excerpts, especially the famous "Christmas Concerto (No.6), Op.8-6", the entire 12 pieces have never been recorded. The new recording by the Italian prodigy Noferini and the Ensemble Locatelli led by harpsichordist Chiara Cattani, who also performed with Somis on his album (TC681908), is sure to be an important milestone.
