Including a world premiere recording of Chopin's music (an arrangement)! The "Complete Preludes + α" Sheholli Plays Chopin Vol. 7! Mordecai Shehori Plays Chopin has reached Vol. 7, a collection of preludes. The main feature is, of course, the 24 preludes. The main focus of this CD is of course the 24 preludes, which are played with the same virtuosity as Liszt's but without the Chopin flair, and include of course the Op.45 in C-sharp minor and the 1834 A-flat major. The highlight of this CD, however, are the three chorale fugues arranged by Chopin from music by Luigi Cherubini. Chopin was a great admirer of Cherubini's 1832 book "A Manual of Counterpoint and Fugue," from which he arranged three fugues for the piano. Because the autographs were in a private collection, they have not been publicly available for over 150 years, and were only published in 2017. This is believed to be the world premiere recording. For these three pieces alone, it would be worth buying if you are a Chopin fanatic. Tobu Shoji Co.
