FLACCID MOJO is the duo of AARON WARREN and BJORN COPELAND, who have collaborated for 26 years since 1999 as part of the Brooklyn experimental noise collective BLACK DICE. Wandering the wilderness of contemporary music, they adhere to an aesthetic as "scavengers" who find treasures among discarded junk and noise. Since their BLACK DICE days, they have consistently shattered the concepts of existing instruments and grids, creating unprecedented sonic experiences. Their second full-length album since their 2022 debut is a savage, liberating mutant construction built from the "sediment" of the streaming industry—free apps and cracked-screen electronics. Renowned engineer Chris Coady, known for his work with Beach House and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, handled the recording and mixing, harnessing their unrestrained groove through years of seamless collaboration. Production emphasizing physical impact stands out, featuring eight tracks that overwhelm listeners with loops that dissolve into your blood upon first listen, snares as sharp as an elbow strike, and basslines carrying physical pressure. A wild, carnival-like energy—connecting CHROME, MEN'S RECOVERY PROJECT, and even THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS—permeates the entire work, radiating an intense, palpable presence that feels like being slammed against a thick wall rather than music passing ghostly by. This is a powerful album that promises a unique listening experience—barbaric, liberating, and extracting raw vitality from the debris of digital society.
