Description:
A new form of "Four Seasons" continues to influence various styles of music Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" is one of the most widely known classical works and has long inspired many composers and performers. In the present day, there are numerous arrangements and reinterpretations, including jazz, film music, folk music, and bold remakes such as Max Richter's "Recomposition of the Four Seasons. Swiss composer Fabian Müller did not alter the original as Richter did, but composed a "Prelude" and three "Interludes" that precede the original, creating a "red carpet" introduction to Vivaldi's world that allows the listener to enter naturally. Sylvain Degini, who plays violin on this recording, pursues an unpretentious performance of "The Four Seasons" that faithfully depicts natural scenes. Working closely with Muller, Degini says he discovered a new connection with Vivaldi through understanding the intent of Muller's works. This is the world premiere recording of Muller's work. The trio sonata "La Follia" is coupled with Vivaldi's intense violin technique. <Fabian Muller> Fabian Muller was born in 1964.His works have been premiered by such musicians as David Zinman, Andris Nelsons, Christopher Hogwood, Steven Isserlis, Evelyn Glennie, and Henning Klagelud, and have been performed at such notable venues as Carnegie Hall, Elbphilharmonie, Zurich's Tonhalle, He has performed at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, the Elbphilharmonie, the Zurich Tonhalle and the Teatro Colon. He has also commissioned works for the Lucerne Festival, Interlaken Festival, Curie Klassik, and Vestfold Festspielene. His opera "EIGER" (2021/22) was enthusiastically acclaimed by audiences and critics. His family opera "Heidi and the Christmas Miracle" (2022/23) was also a great success. His recordings with orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra illustrate his wide-ranging activities. 2024 he was nominated for the OPUS Klassik Award in the category "composer of the year"; in 2016 he received the "Swiss Music Prize".
