Those who feel nostalgic when they hear the name of Michael (Michael) Ponti must be either a great piano fanatic or a lover of the low-priced Vox label (I was very grateful for the Vox label, which released everything from famous pieces to rare and contemporary works at low prices, and in the form of complete works and selections). I was very grateful to the Vox label for releasing a complete and selected collection of famous, rare, and contemporary music at a reasonable price). Ponti is a German-born American pianist who studied under Godowsky's pupil, Gilmer MacDonald, and others, and developed a 19th century virtuoso style. He became widely known when he was selected by Vox Records for a project to record unknown Romantic piano music. The Moscheles pieces included here are among his best repertoire and showcase the splendor of 19th-century pianism.
