The master of the "Clarinet Quintet", Brahms & Reger, played by the virtuoso Robert Oberleigner! The "Clarinet Quintet" was composed in the same form by Brahms and Reger after Mozart's masterpiece, and is widely known as one of the three great masterpieces of this genre. This album features recordings of Brahms' and Reger's works performed by Robert Oberleigner, principal clarinetist of the Staatskapelle Dresden, and the Fritz Busch Quartet, formed by players from the same group. In his later years, Brahms once decided to give up writing due to a decline in his creativity, but an encounter with Richard Mühlfeldt, a clarinet virtuoso in the Meiningen Court Orchestra, reawakened his creative spirit, and he recorded the Clarinet Trio, Op. 114 (1891), Clarinet Quintet, Op. 115 ( He composed a series of works for clarinet: Clarinet Trio, Op. 114 (1891), Clarinet Quintet, Op. 115 (1891), and Two Sonatas for Clarinet, Op. 120 (1894). The Clarinet Quintet in particular remains one of the most beautiful chamber works of the 19th century. And Reger's Clarinet Quintet.Mozart wrote for his friend, clarinetist Anton Stadler, and Brahms wrote for the aforementioned Mühlfeldt, but Reger was influenced by both of their predecessors. The classical melody is in the spirit of Mozart, and like Brahms, it has a strong sense of musicality and precise composition that makes the most of the characteristics of the instrument.
