Description:
The up-and-coming pianist Eri Mantani, based in Germany, is active in various countries in Europe. She won the highest prizes at the Casagrande and Liszt International Piano Competitions, the Schubert International Piano Competition, and the first prize at the Romanian International Music Competition, and was awarded the 2009 Music Critic Club Encouragement Prize and the 2014 Aoyama Music Prize. While a student at Tokyo University of the Arts, she was selected as the youngest artist for the 2003 Osaka AIS, a project by the city of Osaka to support young musicians, and began her performance career in earnest. Since then, she has given regular recitals as a soloist every year in Japan, and as of 2017, she is based in Berlin and has performed at music festivals and recitals in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Austria, and other countries in Europe, and has been praised for her "excellent pianist's music, which will continue to deepen. In this recording for MD+G, you can enjoy the various transitions of wonderful moments, such as shining joys and melancholy currents, in each short piece. Japanese commentary is included.
