White Reaper, a five-piece band from Kentucky, releases their fourth album, Asking for a Ride! White Reaper, a five-piece band from Louisville, Kentucky, will release their new album, Asking for a Ride, on January 27, 2023. The band has also released an advance single, "Pages," and released a music video directed by Lance Bangs. Vocalist/guitarist Tony Esposito describes the song as follows. It's a song that sounds like it belongs on one of our earlier albums, with few chords and a simple melody. But it makes it quite unique compared to the other songs on the new album. I can't wait to show you guys what we've been working on." With the help of close friend and engineer Jeremy Ferguson, who recorded and self-produced much of the album in Nashville, the band found a more direct and daring approach on this album. More slide riffs and strong hooks, the most exciting in the band's history, remind us just how much fun rock music can be. The band "wanted to write songs that made us happy and excited to play live," and they did so by conducting sessions remotely from different parts of the country, recording in separate locations, and eventually dismantling the entire first draft of the album and starting all over again, pursuing it until they felt it was the best they could make it. According to guitarist Hunter Thompson, "We started to see how we worked best as a band. With the release of their fourth album, the band also announced a headlining tour of North America in 2023. The tour will begin on February 7 with special guests Narrow Head, Militarie Gun, Taipei Houston, and Mamalerky.After an extended touring career that has included headlining tours, supporting bands such as Pearl Jam, Weezer, and The Killers, as well as playing festivals such as Lollapalooza, White Reaper is back on the road again for a highly anticipated The show will be the long-awaited return of White Reaper to the road. White Reaper is a band from Louisville, Kentucky consisting of Tony Esposito on guitar/vocals, Ryan Hater on keyboards, Sam Wilkerson on bass, Nick Wilkerson on drums, and Hunter Thompson on guitar. Their last album, "You Deserve Love," was released in 2019 and included the song "Might Be Right," which became a hit at alternative radio and earned them their first television appearance with a performance on the popular show "Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!" The New York Times called it "a blend of '70s stadium rock and garage power pop" and GQ called it "perfect for a nice day" for its smart, sharp songs about doubt, confusion, and love, which is hard to come by and always complicated. Their 2017 release, The World's Best American Band, scored well, being named one of Noisey's "100 Best Albums of 2017" and Pitchfork's "20 Best Rock Albums of 2017".
