The Munich Philharmonic's self-recorded Bruckner live performance at St. Florian's Abbey in Linz, Germany, with Valery Gergiev, who assumed the position of Chief Conductor in September 2015, and the Munich Philharmonic, is a combination of profound power, sparkling elegance, and beauty. The music of this new duo, which is deep, hot, and dense, is highly acclaimed for its concentration and tension, with strings, winds, and percussion all giving their best in response to Gergiev's fiery and skilled conducting. The other symphonies that have already been released are "groundbreaking interpretations that break free from Bruckner's traditional mysticism and religiosity and combine simple beauty and drive. The recording is also highly acclaimed in terms of performance and recording, with "a perfect balance of church reverberation and individual instruments, and a recording that is not at all muddled. The recording was handled by Stephan Reh, a highly acclaimed engineer for labels such as CPO and BIS. Mastering was done by Christoph Stickel, an engineer who has been involved in various works by Keith Jarrett, who was in charge of new mastering under the supervision of ECM.In contrast to the Fifth Symphony, which Bruckner himself considered "a masterpiece of counterpoint," the Sixth Symphony is simple and easy to understand, and although it does not have any remarkable musical ideas, it has a natural beauty and emotion. It was a work that was never revised, which was unusual for Bruckner. Gergiev highlights the spontaneous lyricism and clarity over romantic contemplation. This gives the prestigious sound warmth, the sincere interpretation of the performance without exaggeration, and the Munich Philharmonic's unique rhythms and dynamism enhance the natural atmosphere of the piece.
