Six suites by Richard Jones! Fernando de Luca, harpsichordist, organist, teacher and composer, was born in Rome in 1961. He is currently working on a major project for Da Vinci Classics, the recording of Handel's complete harpsichord works, a total of 20 CDs worth, and he has also embarked on a rare work of the English Baroque. Richard Jones, an English musician active in the 18th century, was the principal violinist (concertmaster) of the orchestra of the Drury Lane Theater, the oldest surviving theater in London, which at the time was also granted a royal patent and recognized as the finest theater in London Although he is known to have been an extremely talented violinist and violin teacher, his career and many of his works remain shrouded in mystery due to the sheer number of musicians and composers of the same name. His "Suite (or Setts of Lessons, as he called them)" for keyboard, published in London in 1732, is Jones' most important surviving collection, and has been re-evaluated as one of the most valuable sources of English music, filling the gap between Purcell and Elgar.
