Matilda Colyar, a young talent, performs Brahms' Cello Sonata! Matilda Colyar, who blossomed at the age of 4, and Stefano Rigolatti, a multi-talented composer-pianist, conductor, organist, and harpsichordist! Matilda Colyar is also active nationally and internationally as a member of Trio Zandonai! Matilda Coryar, born in a musical family, started to play the cello at the age of 4, and her talent blossomed in no time. Stefano Rigolatti, two Italian virtuosos, will perform Brahms' cello sonatas! Colyar is active both nationally and internationally as a soloist and as a member of Trio Zandonai, and has been teaching cello at the Rudolf Steiner School in Milan since September 2017. Brahms' two cello sonatas are the most important examples of the genre, written in the late 19th century. While the first is intimate and sombre, the second, written some 20 years later, is more open and confident in tone. The two instruments, which are difficult to balance, harmonize beautifully, and the piano is given an important role to play.The instruments used are a Riccardo Bergonzi cello and an 1888 Steinway piano.
