Bach's vocal works, a feat of the Bach Collegium Japan, are now available in a completely limited production box! All discs are released in SACD hybrid format! The Bach Collegium Japan (BCJ) is proud to present a complete 78-disc limited edition box of J.S. Bach's vocal music on the BIS label! The secular cantatas were also completed in 2018, making the BCJ the first Japanese organization to complete a complete set of Bach's cantatas. This box contains vocal works composed and arranged by J.S. Bach. The cantatas, as well as the Matthew Passion (recorded in 2019), John Passion (recorded in 1998), Magnificat, Christmas Oratorio, Motets, and other religious works are all available in SACD hybrid format.This box contains the latest first-ever recordings from 2022, as well as a few treasured recordings not included in the "J.S. Bach: The Complete Choral Works" (KKC-8750), which was released in late 2019 as a Japan-only project! This set includes the most recent first-ever recordings from 2022, as well as a rare recording of the Matthew Passion, which was re-recorded in 2019. This recording uses a bass organ built by Marc Garnier, one of the best organ builders of our time. The organ is played by BCJ's principal conductor, Yuto Suzuki. This recording has received high acclaim, winning the 2020 British Gramophone Award (Choral Division).
