Description:
F.P. Zimmermann completes his unaccompanied Bach recordings! The second collection includes Sonata No. 1, Partita No. 1, and Sonata No. 3! Frank Peter Zimmermann has finally completed his recording of Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin! Since the mid-1980s, Zimmermann has been at the forefront of the international music scene, performing a wide range of repertoire from baroque to contemporary. His repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music, and he has received high acclaim for both his performances and recordings of J.S. Bach. The session recording was released on Sony Classical in 2006, and a DVD [EUROARTS] 20-64068) recorded live in 2008.The Violin Concerto was recorded in 1988 with the English Chamber Orchestra [formerly EMI, now Warner Classics], conducted by Jeffrey Tate, and the 2017 album with the Berlin Baroque Soloists [hanssler Classic] (CD: KKC-5922 / HC- 17046, LP: KKC-1211). In addition, he has recorded the Golberg Variations in string trio version arranged by Trio Zimmermann [BIS] (KKC-6044 / BIS SA-2347) and "Canon of 12 Degrees" from "The Technique of Fugue" [ECM]. However, although he has performed his unaccompanied violin works in concert, he has been cautious about recording them. Zimmermann has decided to record the works for the Corona Disaster. The recording of the entire work has now been completed. Zimmermann's technique is overwhelming and his tone is graceful and fragrant, and this Bach performance shows his charm to the fullest, with perfect articulation and full of songfulness. The instrument used is Zimmermann's beloved Stradivarius "Lady Inchiquin" made in 1711.The instrument was once owned by Kreisler, and its sound is enchantingly beautiful, and the Bach played on Zimmermann's beloved instrument, which he has used for many years, is nothing short of exceptional. Please enjoy this recording together with the first collection (KKC-6450 / BIS SA-2577), which includes Sonata No. 2, Partita No. 2, and Partita No. 3! King International
