SACD hybrid disc of chamber music by the young Pettechon. Swedish composer Alan Pettechon (1911-1980) is famous for his symphonies. Although he began writing symphonies in the 1950s, his works as a student at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Stockholm and during his studies in Paris were distinctly different from his later works. In 1939, Pétesson was forced to return to Japan from Paris, where he had been studying, and he composed the gentle, lyrical Romanza, followed three years later by the elegant, meditative Lamento, his only solo piano work, and in 1949, the Violin Concerto for violin and piano solo. in 1949 he wrote a concerto for solo violin and string quartet. Fascinated by Pettechon's works, Ulf Varin gives us another "face" of Pettechon with a contemporary virtuoso. King International
