Ulf Vereen and Roland Penttinen are back with the second volume of their Brahms recording series. The series is entitled "Five" Sonatas for Violin and Piano. The original three violin sonatas and the F.A.E. sonata are included here, as well as the violin version of the Clarinet Sonata No. 2 and the Violin Sonatas Nos. 2 and 3. The glossy tone of Domenico Montagnana, a famous Italian instrument made in 1746, played by Varin, and Penttinen's fine piano are exquisitely matched in this exceptionally beautiful performance.
