Born in 2006 in Colombia, South America, multi-instrumentalist Juan Pinto began his musical career at home in 2019 and has continued to release his music via various online platforms such as Bandcamp and YouTube since 2020. His next-generation Canterbury-inspired modern psychedelic solo project, SINGLELITO, is set to release its 2026 album on the Spanish label aMARXE! The album features five tracks recorded between July and November 2025, following the release of his previous work, *NON-CONSCIOUSNESS*. As with his previous releases, Juan handled everything from performance to recording, mixing, and mastering—all handled solely by Juan. Additionally, for the final track, "Fuente," the project undertook a first-time experiment by recording with a full band lineup featuring longtime musical collaborators Luis Eusse (b) and Ricardo Santiago (g), who regularly support him during live performances. Consistent with his approach since his debut, Juan deconstructs and reconstructing the Canterbury music, symphonic rock, Zeuhl, and psychedelia he holds in such high regard—a style commonly referred to as “Neo-Canterbury”—this album further expands the possibilities of a sound that feels both innovative and nostalgic. Led by the lead track “Lovesong/Letter/Poem/AnythingforAle,” which seems to embody the DIY spirit of post-punk within EGG, this is an excellent work that shines with groundbreaking ideas and performances brimming with the vitality of a new generation!
