This is a new album released in 1999, after the release of the previous album, which gave the impression of "Blur's resurrection", and after the remix work and the activities of Damon and Graham individually! The album is a masterpiece of the "sound image" that grew out of the US alternative sound of the previous album and its proximity to Pavement (the interest in Cornelius is one of them), and was produced by the techno/electro genius William Orbit. The result is a unique sound that retains Blur's originality.The sound is open to the future, as if in sync with the sound system! Blur is famous for frequently changing their music style. Even though their early music was probably a result of their youth and their bent toward the English scene, I felt their determination to be pop artists in tension with the times. And the madness, fall, and rebirth of Brit Pop.The gospel-style single (1), a gospel song that sounds like a blessing filled with peace (even if the reason for the blessing was to get out of a broken heart), sounds especially moving.
