Thomas Ollimans, the Dutch virtuoso who has been described as the second coming of Gérard Szczesny, the famous French baritone and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau's treasured son, makes his Channel Classics debut! Paolo Giacometti, an accomplished pianist on both modern and period instruments, plays two fortepianos in this collection of Schumann's Lieder. As the subtitle "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" suggests, the theme is Schumann's duality, with Op. 48, "The Poet's Love," played on a Konrad Graf circa 1830 fortepiano as "Dr. Jekyll" and Op. 89 and Op. 90, "The Poet's Love," played on a "Mr. Hyde.
