This album, *This Mirror Weighs a Ton*, marks their first release in four years since *The Other Side of Make-Believe* (2022) and is their first album since signing with Partisan Records. On this album, Interpol delves deeply into their inner selves while continuing to push forward into new territory without pausing. Throughout the album, centered on the themes of “introspection,” “distortion,” and “perception,” familiar things are refracted as if illuminated by a completely different light, transforming into somewhat alien forms. This unique perspective shapes the worldview that permeates the entire work. Interpol is a rock band formed in New York City in 1997. The band is centered around Paul Banks (vocals, guitar), Daniel Kessler (guitar), and Sam Fogarino (drums). Known as one of the leading bands of the post-punk revival, their 2002 debut album, *Turn on the Bright Lights*, received high acclaim. They established their unique identity with a dark, tense sound reminiscent of Joy Division and Television, beautifully intertwined guitar ensembles, and melancholic melodies. They have since released albums such as *Antics* (2004), *Our Love to Admire* (2007), and *The Other Side of Make-Believe* (2022).
