Echoes - Trumpet Concertos
Description:
The "Singing Trumpeter" Helset! The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a collection of the greatest concertos of the 20th century! Teine Ting Helset, a young Norwegian female virtuoso, is highly acclaimed and popular as a "singing trumpeter". The fourth release on the high-quality Norwegian label LAWO is a collection of trumpet concertos by three composers who lived in the turbulent 20th century Soviet bloc, including Armenia and Poland, under the direction of Petr Popelka and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. The album opens with the "Trumpet Concerto" by Arutyunian. This masterpiece, which combines the flavor of Armenian folk songs with a romantic melody, is a gateway to success for trumpet players around the world, and was first performed by Herset himself at the age of 14. Herset himself first performed it at the age of 14. "Ever since then, this piece has been an essential part of my repertoire," he said. Penderecki's "Little Concerto" is a concentrated work that shows the style of his later years. Although Penderecki is known for his avant-garde works, this piece shows a lyrical and introspective expression, especially in the second movement played on the flugelhorn. The "Theme and Variations" by Arutyunyan delivers a bright and lively music with a rich folkloric flavor. The album closes with Weinberg's "Trumpet Concerto. The album closes with Weinberg's "Trumpet Concerto," a masterpiece of human anguish, irony, and hope from the composer's deep friendship with Shostakovich. For Herset, this recording is also a "return to his roots" with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom he performed Haydn's concerto at the age of 16. Recording with this orchestra had a special meaning. Petr Popelka is a conductor who is not afraid to take risks and brings a sense of freedom and adventure to his music. It was exactly the kind of recording environment I wanted. This recording conveys the full range of the trumpet's flamboyance, warmth, and human depth. This is a new masterpiece by Herset that shows the true value of the "singing trumpet" that transcends technique. A versatile performer in classical, jazz, and ensemble music, Helset has received numerous awards, including the Norwegian Grammy Award for "Newcomer of the Year" (2007), the Echo Classical Award (2013), and was the opening act at the 2007 Oslo Nobel Prize Gala Concert. She has also been a featured performer at the 2007 Oslo Nobel Prize Gala Concert, which attracted attention from around the world. Tokyo M-Plus
