Teine Ting Helset is a young Norwegian female trumpeter who is highly acclaimed and popular as a "singing trumpeter". The third release on the high-quality Norwegian label LAWO is a collection of works by female composers performed with the female brass ensemble "Ten Tin", of which she is the leader. A versatile classical soloist, ensemble leader, and jazz musician, Helset has performed with major orchestras at home and abroad, as well as at numerous music festivals, and in 2007 became the first classical artist to win the Norwegian Grammy Award (Spelman Award) for "Newcomer of the Year. Newcomer of the Year" at the Norwegian Grammy Awards (Spelman Prize) in 2007, "Newcomer of the Year" at the Echo Classical Awards in 2013, Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship in 2009, and second prize at the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition in 2006. Awards.In 2007, Helset founded Ten Tin, a 10-member all-female brass ensemble, which has performed throughout Norway, including at the opening of the Norwegian Grammy Awards in 2011, and at the BBC Proms in London's Cadogan Hall. Beginning with a highly successful performance at the opening of the Norwegian Grammy Awards in 2011 and an appearance at the BBC Proms at London's Cadogan Hall, the ensemble has earned high praise on the international stage. The ensemble boasts a diverse repertoire ranging from Mozart to Weill, Grieg and Bernstein, and from Lully to Bartók, and works closely with Norwegian guitarist and arranger Jarle Stolrocken on many works with different instrumentation.
