Norwegian soprano Hjsten Flagstad (Kirsten Flagstadt) has made music history as one of the most famous singers of the 20th century, singing "heroines" of Wagner's operas such as Brunnhilde and Isolde at various opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera House and the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. She has left her mark on music history as one of the most famous singers of the 20th century. Budbaerersken" is a program of Norwegian and Swedish "Romances" sung by Flagstad and loved by the Norwegian people. Esa Katharina Gehrke (b.1973) is a Norwegian soprano, who has sung with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra in Sweden. She sang Sørvej in a highly acclaimed recording of Grieg's "Peer Gynt" with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra in Sweden. She attended a concert in 2013 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Flagstad's debut, which gave her the opportunity to learn more about the life and art of the mythical and legendary "heroine" of her native Norway. She was joined by Swedish pianist Bengt Forsberg (b.1952), known for his concerts and recordings with von Otter.This is the second tribute album to an artist whom Gehrke admires, following "Till Eva" to singer Eva Sachs Nansen.
