Mr. Bangle, led by Mike Patton (Faith No More), reunited as a thrash metal band for a show in February 2020. The original members Patton, Trey Spruance, and Trevor Dunn, along with Scott Ian (Anthrax) and Dave Lombard (ex-Slayer), have re-recorded their legendary 1986 demo as a professional album. Mr. Bungle was formed in 1985 in Eureka, CA. After releasing the demo, the band signed with Warner Bros. They released three albums but disbanded in 2004.In August 2019, it was announced that Mr. Bungle will reunite as a thrash metal band for several shows in February 2020. The five members are the original Mike Patton (Vo), Trey Spruance (G), and Trevor Dunn (B), plus Scott Ian (Anthrax) on guitar and Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer) on drums. The band had announced that they would be playing songs from their legendary 1986 demo "The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunn" and would not be playing any songs from the album released on Warner Bros.The show was limited to three cities, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York, and tickets for the three shows sold out immediately. Tickets for the three shows were sold out immediately, and additional shows were added in each city, but they also sold out immediately. Finally, another show was added in Los Angeles for a total of seven shows. After the show, the band went into the studio to re-record the demo "The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunn" as a professional album, and it was announced that the album would be released on Mike Patton's label, Ipecac Recordings, in the fall of 2020. A cover of The Exploited's "U.S.A." was released in June 2020.
