The influence of hip-hop, such as J DILLA and MADLIB, as well as new soul from DONNY HATHAWAY and CURTIS MAYFIELD, was highly appreciated by the current sweet lovers. In 2023, he released "By The Lake / Runner Up," a collaboration single with OKONSKI, a group consisting of members of DURAND JONES & THE INDICATIONS, which was also a great success.The long-awaited full-length LP "BEWILDERMENT" is now available! The album features not only melt-in-your-mouth sweet soul, but also slow disco numbers, Afrobeat, and more in his own unique style, and the string arrangements by RAVEN BUSH take the music to another level. With the exception of "By The Lake," Pale Jay wrote, recorded, and produced all of the songs by himself. The album is about PALE JAY's family, which has been disintegrated by years of miscommunication, and his reassessment of his own identity derived from this. The songs are a testament to PALE JAY's personal growth and self-understanding, and a masterpiece that marks the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
