Ruban Nielson (Vo / Gt)The band has released three albums to date, each of which has been highly acclaimed in the media both in Japan and abroad. They have toured all over the world, including Japan, and have become the signature artists of Jagjaguwar, which also includes Bon Iver and Dinosaur Jr. For this new album, their first in three years, they recorded at their home studio in Portland, their home base, as well as in Seoul, Hanoi, Reykjavik, Mexico City, Auckland, and various other locations around the world. And with this work, UMO mastermind Ruban Nielson has ventured into territory never before explored. A major transformation from the lo-fi psychedelic sound, the guitar tone is fuzzy but impressive, and the songs are rocking.It is no exaggeration to say that this is the beginning of a new chapter for Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
