The film is the feature debut of American actor Brady Corbett, winner of the Best Director Award in the Orizzonti category and the Luigi De Laurentiis Award (Lion of the Future) for Best New Director at the 2015 Venice International Film Festival, and stars new actor Tom Sweet, with Robert Pattinson, Robert Pattinson The film also stars Robert Pattinson, Berenice Bejo, and Liam Cunningham.Based on "The Childhood Of A Leader" from Jean-Paul Sartre's 1939 short story "The Wall," the film centers on an American boy living in France whose father is a diplomat working for the US President to create the 1918 Treaty of Versailles. The film won the Best New Director Award at the Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival 2015 and the Special Jury Award at the Istanbul International Film Festival 2016.
