Description:
Carl Nielsen (1865-1931) is known for his profound symphonies and chamber music. He was also a great master of choral music, and left behind about 300 familiar songs and choral pieces that are still sung in schools and homes throughout Denmark. However, all of the choral pieces in this album are sung in Danish, so they are not familiar to people in other countries. Also, another version of the current Danish national anthem "Beautiful Country" (composed by Hans Ernst Kroyer), composed by Nielsen, is sung as an independent choral piece, and is also included in the final track of this album. The high level of choral singing in Scandinavia can be fully enjoyed on this disc. Recorded in 2014/2015 by the Danish National Vocal Ensemble and others. (C)RS
